Fresh Thinking at Will

Our company name Idon Resources reflects the core Visual Thinking Process of summarizing ideas into shapes or icons where they can dynamically represent different patterns of our thinking (Idea + icon = Idon). Idons allow easy re-patterning of ideas which enable us to evoke fresh thinking at will – often with profound and unexpected results. Famous Hexagon Modelling

Idon Resources delivers a range of modeling methods world-wide - the one we are most famous for originating is Hexagon Modeling, a process often imitated with paper hexagons. Hexagon Modelling is very widely used and forms our core methodology, both as a stand-alone process or in conjunction with a tool kit of methods targeting specific applications.

Our book, “Thinking With Hexagons” provides extensive detail on background, step-by-step application as well as a variety of creative techniques.

History

As early as the 1980's, having originated the famous Idon thinking methods, using magnetic hexagons on whiteboards, we saw the greater flexibility and added benefit possible from transferring this concept onto a software medium.

Considered an entrepreneurial leap in software for visual thinking, a prototype was created by Idon in 1985 and sponsored in its development by Royal Dutch/Shell, who took our magnetic hexagons and software worldwide as part of their planning process. The software later evolved into a tool for entrepreneurial thinking and knowledge management now known as “Idons-For-Thinking, Professional”.

In response to popular demand our latest release the Creative Thinker software is designed to be even more easily accessible to all. The Creative Thinker has full inter-operability with Idons-For-Thinking extending capabilities as a tool for knowledge exchange and management.
